The official website for the upcoming Shabake anime series confirmed that it will premiere in October 2025 on Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block. A new trailer for the upcoming anime also reveals new staff members, cast members, and the opening theme song “Inochi no Parade (Parade of Life)” by Kujira.
Before the premiere, there will be two advanced screenings of the Shabake anime series on August 23 in Tokyo. The screenings will include the anime’s first four episodes.
The cast of the Shabake anime series includes:
- Daiki Yamashita as Ichitarō
- Kōji Okino as Nikichi
- Taku Yashiro as Sasuke
Takahiro Ōkawa directs the new anime series at BN Pictures. Tōko Machida oversees the series scripts. Akari Minagawa is the character designer and the chief animation director alongside Yuka Shiga. Rei Ishizuka is the music composer for the anime.

Megumi Hatakenaka’s first novel for the Shabake series released in 2001, and various sequel novels released in the many years that followed. The series would inspire two live-action TV series, manga, radio plays, stage plays, stage musicals, picture books, and a net anime adaptation. It’s worth noting that the upcoming anime series will not have the same cast and staff as the net anime series.
