In a recent investors report, Sony confirmed that Solo Leveling has become the most-viewed anime on Crunchyroll. While the news took some by surprise, it wasn’t entirely shocking, thanks the popularity regarding the second season.
Back in March, the anime was dubbed to be the most popular title on Crunchyroll’s roster. It’s an impressive feat for a new anime that would have had to compete with some big names, such as One Piece and Attack on Titan.
Solo Leveling was also the most-viewed anime of 2024 as well as the first quarter of 2025. This is in addition to the anime making history at Crunchyroll Anime Awards, picking up nine awards in a single night. This success has translated into manga sales, as the popular title has seen a dramatic increase in sales since Season 2 was completed.
Despite all the success around it, a third season has yet to be confirmed. However, the Head of Theatrical & Distribution at Crunchyroll, Mitchel Berger, assured fans that Sung Jinwoo’s story will be told in full.
“We just concluded Season 2, which did really well for us, so I’m sure there will be more content in the future,” Berger said. “We’re not sure exactly when, but it will be here, and fans will continue to see the story.”
However, with no official statement on when the anime will return, fans have begun to cling to the words of Sota Furuhashi, the anime’s producer, suggesting that the anime may take even longer to arrive, potentially even in 2028.
