Nintendo has released new updates for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (version 1.8.1) and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (version 1.4.1). These patches revise the Portuguese text and also address several other issues to improve the “gameplay experience.”
Nintendo has released the updates a week after it launched upgrade packs for both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom on the Nintendo Switch 2. The console launched on June 5 for $449.99. A bundle is available for $499.99 featuring Mario Kart World. It has already sold over 3.5 million units, becoming the fastest-selling console of all time.
Recently, Nintendo delayed the release of the new The Legend of Zelda live-action movie to May 7, 2027. Previously, Nintendo and Sony planned to premiere the film on March 26, 2027, but Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that “production reasons” have delayed the premiere of The Legend of Zelda.
The official Nintendo X (formerly Twitter) account shared the following statement, “This is Miyamoto. For production reasons, we are changing the release date of the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda to May 7, 2027. It will be some weeks later than the release timing we originally announced, and we will take the extra time to make the film as good as it can be. Thank you for your patience.”
Wes Ball directs the upcoming The Legend of Zelda live-action movie. In the past, Ball directed The Maze Runner franchise and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The movie is produced by Arad Productions, known for its work on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Kraven the Hunter, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Uncharted, and the upcoming Metal Gear Solid film. Nintendo is co-financing the film with Sony Pictures Entertainment.
