Takeru Hokazono’s Kagurabachi manga series is taking a one-week break from 2025’s 29th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine due to Hokazono’s “sudden illness.” The Kagurabachi manga will return from its break in the 30th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on June 23.
Moreover, Hokazono apologized for worrying fans on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, and he’s “currently writing energetically.”
New chapters of Kagurabachi release on Sundays at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET. Fans may read new chapters at VIZ Media or Manga Plus in English as they release. The latest three chapters are available for free on the Manga Plus website, but all chapters are free on the Manga Plus app.
Kagurabachi entered serialization on September 19, 2023 in Weekly Shonen Jump, and the magazine continues to release new chapters every week in Japan. The first tankōbon volume released on February 2, 2024 in Japan, followed by the west on November 5, 2024.
Reports suggested that Kagurabachi will receive an anime adaptation by Cygames Pictures, which is jointly produced by CyberAgent and Shochiku. The anime hasn’t been officially announced.
