YouTube announced that the company is working with Nintendo to make the YouTube app natively available on Nintendo Switch 2. Currently, the YouTube app from the original Nintendo Switch is not compatible with Nintendo Switch 2, so players will have to wait for the native version to release.
It’s also worth noting that other media apps, including Crunchyroll and Hulu, also don’t appear to work on Nintendo Switch 2. In those cases, Nintendo Switch 2 users will need to wait until Crunchyroll, Hulu, and other companies detail their plans for support on the newly released console.
Nintendo previously revealed the patch notes for the Nintendo Switch 2 day one patch, also known as update 20.1.0. Nintendo Switch 2 update 20.1.0 adds compatibility for Nintendo Switch Online software, along with basic features such as system transfers, Nintendo eShop accessibility, and much more. Players who receive their system must install the update to take full advantage of it.
Nintendo Switch 2 launched on June 5 for $449.99. A bundle is available for $499.99 featuring Mario Kart World. Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 at Best Buy, Walmart and Target went live on April 24 and quickly sold out within just a few hours. However, Nintendo and other retailers will periodically replenish stock after launch. Other games like Cyberpunk 2077 and upgrade packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are also available.
