Pariah Interactive announced psychedelic 3D platformer 1000 Deaths is coming to PC via Steam on August 7, followed by PlayStation 5 and other platforms at a later date. A new demo for 1000 Deaths is also available on Steam.
Here’s an overview, courtesy of Pariah Interactive:
Guide Vayu, Maxie, Terry, and Boga, aliens with problems all too human, through the crossroads of their life. Across three, highly replayable, 20 minute episodes, lead them from birth to death; as they learn about the world, form their identities as teenagers, make their stamp on the world as adults, and look back on the consequences of their actions in their dying days.
Jump into each character’s evolving Headspace, the architectural embodiment of their moods, as a fleet-footed television set, and roam the plains of their embroiled minds in more than 45 eccentric, story-centric stages. Flip gravity, deploy jetpacks, alter levels with toggle switches, and space out.
Collect Broadcasts, videos playing on 1000 Deaths’ TV mascot character’s screen, that illuminate interpersonal conflicts residing within the cast. Choose how to curve their convictions into meaningful life choices to unlock new levels and gameplay mechanics tied to their inner turmoils like fear of commitment, desire for power, and penchant for nihilism. Make peace with each character as they endure the cycle of life, aging, and death, and make vital decisions to steer their lives in drastic directions.
Failure is an option, actually. No sweat! Conflict resolution has consequences, but you can always try again (and again) in a branching, non-linear narrative. Navigate replayable, abstract realities across three episodes with a total of 12 possible endings. Play at your own pace in Story mode, or put your platforming skills to the test in Arcade mode with 47 levels that stretch the bounds of 1000 Deaths’ mechanics.
