Walmart detailed its plans for the Nintendo Switch 2 launch and confirmed how in-store availability will work. Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5 for $449.99.
According to Walmart, customers can start shopping for the Nintendo Switch 2 and its accessories both in-store and online when the console releases on June 5. Further, customers in Pacific and Mountain-time regions will be able to purchase the Nintendo Switch 2 at Walmart Supercenters on launch at June 4 at 9:00 p.m. PDT or 10:00 p.m. MDT, respectively. Those who have already pre-ordered the system online are eligible for free delivery by 9:00 a.m. EDT on June 5.
Recently, Target also detailed how its own in-store availability will function for the Switch 2. The email states that customers can start lining up at the designated queuing location before the store opens on June 5. Target team members will distribute limited tickets, which will reserve their console for purchase. Once Target opens, employees will direct ticket-holders to the Electronics section where they will purchase it. Each customer can only purchase one system. On June 6, limited quantities of the Switch 2 will be available once again on the Target.com online store.
A Nintendo Switch 2 bundle will be available for $499.99 featuring Mario Kart World. Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 at Best Buy, Walmart and Target went live on April 24 and quickly sold out within just a few hours. However, Nintendo and other retailers will periodically replenish stock leading into launch. Other games like Cyberpunk 2077 and upgrade packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will also be available upon release.
