Tango Gameworks has officially re-opened its office after Xbox laid-off the studio and KRAFTON subsequently acquired it. The company is now hiring for its next game, an “unannounced action game.”
On its newly opened website, Tango Gameworks Inc. states the following: “It took us some time, but the official office for Tango Gameworks, Inc. is open, and our hybrid work environment finally has its in-office counterpart! These things take time, but our office in Tokyo is back open as we fill it with our memorabilia from our projects and begin decorating based on our new brand identity!”
It is hiring several positions, including senior application programmer, user interface programmer, IT support, facilities manager, and more, for a new action game. The game will utilize Unreal Engine and will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While it is possible that the unannounced game is a brand-new IP, it is likely Hi-Fi Rush 2, a game that has been development even before KRAFTON acquired Tango.
Maria Park, the KRAFTON head of corporate development, teased the sequel in a previous post, stating that “some of the feedback about Hi-Fi Rush was that some people felt it was [just] going through factories, so now they want to give a more open world type of experience. I don’t think it’s going to be completely open world, but a more dynamic environment [that] you play in. Also, having more advanced technology applied to the rhythm action so that it feels more synchronised.”
Hi-Fi Rush is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
