HIDIVE and SHUDDER have both announced that the Vampire Hunter D film is streaming now on both streaming services. The film recently re-released in theaters across the U.S. and Canada in early April.
Toyoo Ashida initially directed Vampire Hunter D, which first released in theaters back in 1985. It’s based on the best-selling novel of the same name, written by Hideyuki Kikuchi. The digitally remastered version is the one that is available on both streaming services, which first released in 2015. Both English subbed and dubbed versions are available in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

In the year 12,090 A.D. technology and the supernatural have overtaken the world, leaving the land desolate and despotic. The remnants of humanity are scattered into small communities and live in fear of vampires who compose the ruling Nobility. When Count Magnus Lee tastes the blood of Doris Lang, she is forcibly chosen to be his next wife. Recently, HIDIVE announced that the English dub for the anime adaptation of Moto’o Nakanishi’s Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho novel series will premiere on June 4. The English sub for the Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho anime is currently streaming on HIDIVE. Moreover, the anime will run for two consecutive cours. Additionally, NEE performs the opening theme song “Continue,” and Hilcrhyme feat. Izumi Nakasone perform the ending theme song “Sen-ya Ichi-ya.”
