Nintendo announced that Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics games with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will receive new rewind, CRT filter, and control features on Nintendo Switch 2. These features will be available in a free update on June 5, and it will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2.
With Rewind, players can easily turn back the in-game clock and try again. The new CRT filter recreates the look of a CRT TV for Nintendo 64 games, and Nintendo Switch Online members can also view and change controls, thanks to the button remapping feature.
Nintendo previously released Rare-developed classic Nintendo 64 fighting game Killer Instinct Gold on May 16 for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers. Killer Instinct Gold is playable within the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Switch Online app on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
On June 5, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, and SoulCalibur II will be available for the service via Nintendo GameCube Classics on Nintendo Switch 2. Later, Nintendo will add Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, Chibi-Robo, Luigi’s Mansion, and Pokémon Colosseum.
Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5 for $449.99. A bundle will be available for $499.99 featuring Mario Kart World. Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 at Best Buy, Walmart and Target went live on April 24 and quickly sold out within just a few hours. However, Nintendo and other retailers will periodically replenish stock leading into launch. Other games like Cyberpunk 2077 and upgrade packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will also be available.
