According to insider PH Brazil, a new Nintendo Direct will take place at some point in the first two weeks of June. It will either take place at some during the week of June 1, near the Nintendo Switch 2‘s launch, or the week after between June 8 and June 13.
In the past, Nintendo has held several Directs dedicated to its upcoming releases during June. In the past, it streamed the event to coincide with E3. However, even after the event shut down, there is usually still a Nintendo Direct that takes place in June. If the rumor is to be believed, and based on Nintendo’s track record of airing Directs on either a Wednesday or a Thursday, it could premiere on either June 4, 5, 11, or 12. It will likely focus on games for both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch, plus games exclusively available for the former.
Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5 for $449.99. A bundle will be available for $499.99 featuring Mario Kart World. Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 at Best Buy, Walmart and Target went live on April 24 and quickly sold out within just a few hours. However, Nintendo and other retailers will periodically replenish stock leading into launch. Other games like Cyberpunk 2077 and upgrade packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will also be available at launch.
Nintendo has showcased several features for the Nintendo Switch 2 via the Nintendo Today app. This includes the official Nintendo Switch 2 carrying case, revealing that video captures on the Switch 2 will still be 30 seconds long, and that the GameChat will support multiple screen sizes, live subtitles, and text-to-speech.
