Suirei and Shisui begin to act strangely.

    Published:

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 episode 43 turns away from Jinshi’s ruthless sleuthing and places the spotlight back on Maomao, who was essentially kidnapped by Suirei. While Jinshi attempts to find the truth behind Maomao’s disappearance, everyone’s favorite apothecary attends a festival and begins to uncover more about Suirei. With the anime’s brief hiatus coming to a close, Final Weapon has everything need to know about this new must-watch episode of The Apothecary Diaries Season 2.

In The Apothecary Diaries episode 42, Jinshi continued his search for clues that would point him in Maomao’s direction. While on the hunt, Jinshi runs into Shenlu, who smells just like the alcohol that Maomao carries around. He follows her to a forgotten graveyard, which is actually the resting place for the late emperor’s young wives and ladies. When forcing an encounter, Shenlu looks at Jinshi, who reminds him of the late emperor when he was young, and decides to poison herself with alcohol. Fortunately, Gaoshun and the other eunuchs are around to administer care, but Jinshi is somewhat taken aback by what happened.

While reminiscing on his past, Jinshi’s memories of being regarded as an illegitimate child by those who don’t know the true of his birthright helped him come closer to a grim realization. He notices a lantern plant near a gravestone belonging to a deceased woman named Taihou, a court lady that died one year ago. Through her family lineage, it is revealed that Lady Loulan is related to Suirei, and Jinshi uncovers another clue in what could be a massive conspiracy. When he reaches Lady Loulan at her Garnet Pavillion, it’s reveals that all her servants wear the same makeup and attire, as they all mimic Loulan’s appearance on a schedule. This is due to the real Loulan not being at the Garnet Pavillion anymore.
