Nintendo announced the company will be hosting Nintendo Switch 2 launch events at the Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO and Nintendo NEW YORK stores on June 4. Entry to each event is first come, first served.
The Nintendo Switch 2 launch events will begin at 1:00 p.m. PDT in San Francisco and 3:00 p.m. EDT in New York. A separate “Nintendo Switch 2 Shopping Session” will be held at each store simultaneously at 9:00 p.m. PDT / 12:00 a.m. EDT, allowing attendees to finally purchase the new console and some games. The session will require a Warp Pipe Pass, and more details are coming soon.
Following the opening of Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO, Nintendo announced plans to open the Nintendo FUKUOKA store in Japan by the end of 2025. Nintendo FUKUOKA will be Nintendo’s fourth official store in Japan. Nintendo FUKUOKA will open at the Amu Plaza Hakata shopping mall in Fukuoka, Japan. Specific plans for the retail space have not been revealed yet, but it will likely be similar in scale to previously opened Nintendo stores, such as Nintendo OSAKA.
Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5 for $449.99. A bundle will be available for $499.99 featuring Mario Kart World. Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 at Best Buy, Walmart and Target went live on April 24 and quickly sold out within just a few hours. However, Nintendo and other retailers will periodically replenish stock leading into launch. Other games like Cyberpunk 2077 and upgrade packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will also be available.
