Nintendo released a new Creator’s Voice video for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, which hints at 60 FPS support for the new game on Nintendo Switch 2. Producer Ryota Matsushita and Koei Tecmo AAA Games studio head Yosuke Hayashi also discussed how the new platform makes it possible to bring certain features.
Producer Matsushita notes that Nintendo Switch 2 made it possible to include lots of enemies in our Warriors games, which could imply that more titles in the franchise are coming to the platform. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment players can expect thrilling 1 vs 1,000 battles, and Hayashi notes that Nintendo Switch 2 offers “higher frame rates than the Nintendo Switch system,” implying that 60 FPS is supported. Considering that the screenshots and footage are in 4K, it’s likely possible to achieve 4K at 60 FPS.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment leads directly into the events of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The game will feature Zelda, Rauru, and several other characters from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as playable characters.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will receive enhanced versions for Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5. On Nintendo Switch 2, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will support 4K resolution, HDR, and 60 FPS.
The Nintendo Switch app will also receive a new service called ZELDA NOTES. ZELDA NOTES is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 Editions and helps players navigate to various locations, like that difficult-to-find shrine or hidden Korok, and will even feature commentary from Princess Zelda herself.
