Epic Games has announced that, after nearly five years, Fortnite has finally returned to the Apple App Store. It is available to download in the U.S. on iPhones and iPad and on the Epic Games Store and AltStore in the European Union.
Last week, Epic Games announced that Apple had blocked Fortnite on iOS devices worldwide after attempting to re-submit the game on the App Store. Apple initially took Fortnite off of the App Store due to Epic Games having its own store front within the game, which went against Apple’s rules.
The two companies have been in an ongoing legal battle ever since, but a recent court order tipped the odds in Epic’s favor. The court order states that Apple will no longer be able to take a commission from purchases made outside of the App Store. After years of waiting, Apple have finally acquiesced and allowed the game to be available on the App Store once again.
