A new way to purchase games on the PlayStation Store.

PlayStation has announced that the PlayStation Store now supports purchasing games via Apple Pay. The feature is available now on PlayStation 5 and will release soon via a software update for the PlayStation 4

According to 9To5Mac, players can switch to paying for a game via Apple Pay on the payment screen in the PlayStation Store. Once they do, they must scan a unique code via their iPhone or iPad, which will lead to a checkout page on their respective device. This feature only supports devices with iOS 18/iPadOS 18.

You can take advantage of this new payment method with the next major PlayStation 5 game releasing in 2025, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. Recently, Hideo Kojima announced that the game has gone gold ahead of the its release on June 26 for PlayStation 5. Reaching gold status means that development of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is now complete, and the game is ready for mass production.

A new Death Stranding 2: On The Beach Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller will also be sold on June 26. Pre-orders open on May 22 at 10:00 a.m. local time for $84.99 at PlayStation Direct and participating retailers. PlayStation worked closely with Kojima Productions on the controller design.

Pre-orders for the Death Stranding 2: On The Beach Collector’s Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition are also available now. These editions feature early access, allowing players to play the game two days early on June 24. The digital deluxe edition also includes battle, boost, and bokka skeletons, an early unlock for a machine gun, and several cosmetic patches.
