A suspicious female gang is causing the city of Anvil some trouble at night in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and the Hero of Kvatch can settle this situation in The Siren’s Deception quest. In this guide, you will learn how to start The Siren’s Deception in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, the rewards you can get for complete the quest, and some secrets worth looking out for.
Firstly, Anvil is located on the southwest edge of Cyrodiil, just west of Kvatch in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. You’ll be able to hear about the female gang and get The Siren’s Deception Quest by speaking to NPCs about rumors. By hearing those rumors, you will be pointed in the direction of Maelona, a Redguard NPC whose marriage is on shaky ground.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered – The Siren’s Deception Quest Walkthrough (Spoilers Ahead)
The Siren’s Deception quest begins in earnest by speaking to Maelona about her husband, Gogan. She explains that Gogan was swindled by female gang members offering their titillating services and wants you to help him get it back. After accepting Maelona’s request, you will have to speak to Gogan, who can be found in his house with Maelona or roaming around Anvil. Gogan will explain his embarrassing situation, reveal that the gang took his wedding ring, and point you to The Flowing Bowl Inn, where the gang normally operates.
The Flowing Bowl Inn is located right outside the Anvil Dock Gate, close to The Serpent’s Wake ship from The Ghost Ship of Anvil quest. All you need to do is head inside, and you will be approached by Faustina Cartia and Signy Home-Wrecker, the main members of the gang.
Regardless of gender for your protagonist, they’ll ask you to meet them at the Gweden Farm at 11:00 pm. Gweden Farm is located southeast of Fort Strand and Anvil, so it’s not a far walk away from town. Once it’s 11 pm, the next quest step will appear, prompting you to head inside. There, the protagonist will provoke a fight from the three women inside.
Witsplinter is This Quest’s Secret Reward
Defeat all three of the women, and Maelona and Gogan will reveal themselves to be undercover members of the Anvil Guard, who were hot on the gang’s trail. Maelona will give you a handsome sum of gold for taking the gang down, and The Siren’s Deception quest will be complete. However, stick around and don’t leave the house, as there’s more to be found in Gweden Farm.
One of the women held Witsplinter, an enchanted dagger that deals points of Drain Intelligence and Damage Magicka. Witsplinter can be found on the floor next to its former wielder. Be sure to search their bodies for a basement key and enter the Gweden Farm basement to find more gold and loot. Lastly, once you’re fully looted the place, you can leave and continue your journey in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is available now for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
