NetEase Games announced survival horror game Identity V is collaborating with the popular Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End for a crossover event this summer. Additionally, studio Madhouse animated a teaser trailer for the Identity V and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End collaboration. Further details will be announced at a later date.
While waiting on the collaboration to start, fans can watch the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End mini-anime Magic of ??. New Magic of ?? episodes will be released every month until September 2025, and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 will premiere in January 2026.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 1 premiered on September 29, 2023, and ran until the end of the second cour on March 22, 2024. The first 11 episodes of Magic of ?? episodes were released during the first season.

The mage Frieren defeated the Demon King alongside the hero Himmel’s party after a 10-year quest. Peace was restored to the kingdom. Because she is an elf, she is able to live over a thousand years. She promises Himmel and the others that she will be back to see them and then sets out on a journey by herself. Fifty years later, Frieren goes to visit Himmel and the others. She remained unchanged, but Himmel and the others have aged and only a little of their lives remain. Later, she witnesses Himmel’s death.
