Nihon Falcom’s product listings for Ys X: Proud Nordics confirm that it will be a game-key card title for Nintendo Switch 2. This means that game data for Ys X: Proud Nordics will not be included on the Nintendo Switch 2 game card and must be downloaded after inserting it into the console for the first time.
Ys X: Proud Nordics features a new story, new elements and upgrades, new bosses, Mana Ride races, battles in the arena where deadly enemies await, new Mana Actions, and much more. Players will have access to Aland Island, a massive island located north of Obelia Gulf. While Adol Christin and Karja Balta fight off the Griegr, they will visit the island and uncover countless ruins in these unexplored lands. An encounter with another “Mana user” awaits them there.
Ys X: Proud Nordics is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on July 31 in Japan, and additional platforms for the game have not been announced. Like its predecessor Ys X: Nordics, Ys X: Proud Nordics will be sold physically and digitally in Japan, and first-print copies of the physical edition include the “Additional Music Collection” CD. The CD contains all the new music for the updated release.
Before launch this past September, Final Weapon reviewed Ys X: Nordics and claimed that it sets the standard for modern-day action RPGs. Ys X: Nordics “invokes a sense of adventure and mystery” while delivering an incredible story and combat system, earning it a 4.5/5 review score from Final Weapon.
