SEGA confirmed that an upgrade pack for Sonic X Shadow Generations will not be available for Nintendo Switch 2, meaning that players who already have the Nintendo Switch version will need to buy the game again to play the enhanced version.
Moreover, players will need to buy the DLC again in the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Sonic X Shadow Generations since there’s no upgrade for it either, according to SEGA’s official website. However, players can transfer save data from the Nintendo Switch version to Nintendo Switch 2, allowing them to play from where they last left off. Regardless, players will need to download 24 GB of game data on Nintendo Switch 2, since Sonic X Shadow Generations is a game-key card title.
SEGA previously announced that Sonic X Shadow Generations and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S will be available on June 5 as Nintendo Switch 2 launch titles alongside Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut. Physical and digital pre-orders for all three games and Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of The Soulless Army are now available.
Currently, Sonic fans can dive into Sonic x Shadow Generations right now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The level is accessible from the White Space in Shadow Generations, which is Shadow’s campaign.
