GKIDS has announced that it will distribute the 100 Meters anime film to North American theaters in October. It will release in Japan on September 19.

Uoto initially released the original Hyakuemu manga in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app. Kodansha published the third compiled volume in 2019. Last year, the 100 Meters film premiered at the Annecy International Film Festival. The festival describes the movie as follows:
Togashi is born to run. As a kid, he is naturally gifted and wins every 100-meter race without effort. But in sixth grade, he meets Komiya, a transfer student who is full of determination but lacks technique. In teaching him, Togashi gives Komiya a new purpose: to win no matter what. Years pass by, Togashi and Komiya meet again as rivals on the track and reveal their true selves.
Recently, GKIDS distributed Bandai Namco, Sunrise, and Studio Khara’s Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- anime film to North America on February 28. The anime series started airing on April 9. Later this year, GKIDS’ will distribute the 100 Meters anime film to North America in October 2025. It will release in Japan on September 19.
