The collector’s edition for the collection includes a steelbook case with physical discs for both games, The Last of Us: American Dreams comic, set of four lithographic art prints, and a thank you letter from Neil Druckmann. Recently, Naughty Dog has that season 3 of The Last of Us TV show is in development. Season 2 of the series will premiere on April 13 on HBO and Max.
It is unknown what the story of season 3 will be, since there isn’t a third game in The Last of Us franchise. Previous remarks from the showrunners hint that multiple seasons may be in development and that the story of The Last of Us Part II may be adapted across multiple seasons.
In an earlier interview with Variety, Neil Druckmann, hinted at the series’ end. When asked about the possibility of The Last of Us Part III, Druckmann stated, “I was waiting for this question. I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of Last of Us. This could be it.”
In the past, he has stated that he has a concept for “one more chapter” to the franchise, which would likely be The Last of Us Part III. However, it’s unlikely to come anytime soon, due to development of Naughty Dog’s next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
The Last of Us Complete Edition is available now on PlayStation 5.
