During the eastasiasoft Spring 2025 showcase livestream, the company announced it will be officially localizing the Idea Factory-developed Hakuoki SSL ~Sweet School Life~ game. The title is planned for a late 2025 release on Nintendo Switch.
Pre-orders for the game will begin on April 10th through Playasia, and will include both the physical game on its own, and a Limited Edition package that will be limited to 2000 units. Said package will include the game, manual, soundtrack CD, art book, mini case, Joy-Con sticker set, acrylic character standees and a numbered certificate, all neatly packed in a collector’s box.
Hakuoki SSL ~Sweet School Life~ is an otome game originally released for the PlayStation Vita in March 2014, and later ported to Nintendo Switch in June 2023 in Japan. Neither version ever received an official localization until now.
The game centers around heroine Chizuru Yukimura and the handsome legendary warriors of the Shinsengumi, but unlike most of the series that’s set in Edo period Japan, this spin-off entry casts the characters as members of a school in modern Japan.
Players can experience a fun slice-of-life story through unlockable event scenes, engaging dialogue and beautifully illustrated character portraits, explore unique endings with each character and enjoy mini-games.
