During today’s Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo revealed Donkey Kong Bananza, a brand-new 3D platformer starring the iconic gorilla. This marks the first 3D entry in the Donkey Kong series since Donkey Kong 64 on the Nintendo 64.
Nintendo Switch 2 was also revealed to launch on June 5, 2025. The console is priced at $449.99 in the United States, and Mario Kart World is priced at $79.99. As for Donkey Kong Bananza, Nintendo has confirmed that the game will retail for $69.99.
In a press release, Nintendo described the game as the following:
“Get ready for Donkey Kong Bananza, a brand-new 3D platforming action adventure – available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. Crash, bash, and climb through nearly everything in DK’s path and tear off chunks of terrain to swing around and throw in groundbreaking exploration. The more that is demolished with powerful punches, the more areas open up to discover. Break on through this adventure full of mayhem, surprises and bananas when Donkey Kong Bananza crashes onto Nintendo Switch 2 July 17.”
Donkey Kong Bananza will arrive exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17, 2025.
