Bethesda and id Software have announced that brand-new gameplay of DOOM: The Dark Ages is set to release tomorrow, Monday, March 31. This gameplay is set to drop alongside impressions from both influencers and press, who attended an event for the game a few weeks back.

The Dark Ages is set to bring the world of DOOM to medieval times for the very first time. This game is a prequel to both DOOM (2016) and DOOM: Eternal. We’ve seen all sorts of new weapons and mechanics in the gameplay snippets revealed thus far, so you can expect even more when the new gameplay is released tomorrow.

DOOM: The Dark Ages was first revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase 2024. The final release date was revealed in January at a Developer_Direct presentation. You can check out some DOOM: The Dark Ages gameplay highlights so far below:

Steam describes the game as the following:

“DOOM: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal that tells an epic cinematic story of the DOOM Slayer’s rage. Players will step into the blood-stained boots of the DOOM Slayer, in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell.”

DOOM: The Dark Ages will launch on May 15, 2025 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Additionally, the game will be available on day one via Xbox Game Pass. Pre-orders are now live.
