No Plans for a The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy PS5 Port, Kazutaka Kodaka Says

Resources from the game's success could be used for more updates.

There are no plans for a port of The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy to PlayStation 5 or other platforms “at this time,” said creator Kazutaka Kodaka. According to Kodaka, there are constraints in manpower and funding for the game, and ports to other platforms would be costly.

Instead of focusing on a port to PS5 or other platforms, Kodaka and his team want to allocate resources toward adding more languages to The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and enhancing gameplay features.

Nintendo Switch and PC players can already try out The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy in a free demo. The demo covers the game’s prologue up to “the 7th day out of 100 days.” Save data will transfer over to the full game when it launches. Moreover, digital pre-orders for The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy are available the Nintendo eShop. Standard Edition is $59.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is $69.99

In addition, the Nintendo Switch version will be sold physically, and pre-orders are now available in the Marvelous USA Store. Standard Edition and Limited Edition copies will be sold for $59.99 and $99.99 respectively. Limited edition copies include 15 character art cards, a soundtrack CD, an artbook, the Defense Academy short novel, an acrylic diorama, a lenticular art card, and metal collector’s pin.

On Steam, a Digital Deluxe Edition will be available with a digital art book and soundtrack. The new bonus original novel “The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- Novel Former Lives of the SDU: File 03 – Hiruko Shizuhara’s First Battle” is included with digital pre-orders. The novel was written under the supervision of Kodaka.

Lastly, The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy launches on April 24 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam worldwide.
