Capcom announced the Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 launches on April 4 featuring the return of Mizutsune, new quests, the Grand Hub gathering space, and much more. Players may begin to hunt Mizutsune and access other new content at Hunter Rank 21 and above.
Starting in Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1, players can unlock the mission to hunt Mizutsune by speaking with Kanya in the Scarlet Forest. At Hunter Rank 31, Tempered Mizutsune will also begin to appear. Arch-tempered Rey Day also makes their debut in an Event Quest for players at Hunter Rank 50 and above. Hunter Rank 50 also unlocks a mission to hunt Zoh Shia again. Players can gather Zoh Shia parts to create high-rank hunter and Palico equipment.
Title Update 1 also brings Arena Quests, Challenge Quests, and Free Challenge Quests. Challenge Quests and the newly introduced Free Challenge Quests will only appear as limited-time Event Quests. Arena Quest and Challenge Quests can be completed by up to two players using pre-determined equipment. On the other hand, Free Challenge Quests have no equipment restrictions and up to four-player co-op. Players can earn rewards and Hunter Rank XP from clearing all these quests, and new Event Quests will continue to be added to the Quest Board.

Moreover, Title Update 1 introduces the Grand Hub to Monster Hunter Wilds. Grand Hub is a massive gathering space for hunters to engage in new ways, including a new Barrel Bowling mini-game with items and pendants as rewards. Players can talk to Tetsuzan in Suja after reaching Hunter Rank 16 to unlock the Grand Hub. The entrance to the Grand Hub will also host the Expedition Record Board, where Arena Quests’ fastest global clear times will be displayed alongside limited bounties.
Each season a Grand Hub celebration will be held, with the first being the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance from April 23 to May 7. During festivals, the appearance and available meals in the Grand Hub will change, and hunters can obtain limited-time equipment, gestures, Pop-Up Camp decorations, and more. Seasonal Event Quests and returning Event Quests will be available, including Arch-tempered Rey Dau from April 30 to May 21.
A free outfit for handler Alma will be available in the new update, along with a side quest that unlocks the ability to change her glasses. Classic gestures are also making their return as free DLC in Monster Hunter Wilds, alongside Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 as a standalone item or included item for Premium Deluxe Edition and Cosmetic DLC Pass holders. Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 will also include new Camp Gear options for your Pop-Up Camps throughout the Forbidden Lands. Additional Paid DLC not included in Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 will also be available.
Roadmap
Another update is planned for the end of May 2025. The update includes a collaboration with another Capcom game, a feature that lets players see the Endemic Life they’ve captured, and much more. Title Update 2 is planned for summer 2025 with an additional monster and a new seasonal event.
Lastly, Monster Hunter Wilds is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Final Weapon gave Monster Hunter Wilds a 4/5 score, noting that it’s an excellent entry in the long-running series and a worthy follow-up to Capcom’s most successful game ever. Despite the performance issues, Capcom delivers one of the best-feeling combat systems in Monster Hunter Wilds along with the franchise’s first legitimate story mode.
