Bandai Namco released a new free update for DEATH NOTE Killer Within featuring the Watari and National Police Agency (NPA) Chief roles. In addition, new paid DLC is now available.
Alongside the new Watari and NPA Chief roles, a new Premium Avatar Set DLC of Soichiro Yagami with a snot bubble and pajamas with a nightcap is available in DEATH NOTE Killer Within. Moreover, Premium Customization Pack Vol. 4 gives players more customization options and rewards as they progress through levels, including Watari and Soichiro Yagami avatars, the “Japanese Police Set” pets, nameplates, voiced cut-ins, and more accessories.

Known as the trusted handler and assistant in the anime, Watari plays an equally crucial role in the game. Watari and L are aware of each other’s identities and can discreetly exchange critical information through a transceiver at his disposal. This gives Watari an edge to move the investigation forward. Additionally, NPA Chief is the second role whose goal is to fight for justice. In this role, players can pause the action phase by calling for an emergency meeting. However, this can only occur once per game and cannot be used while a Kira Command Card is in effect. Watari and NPA Chief are both members of L’s team and provide new gameplay strategy to help expose Kira and his team.
