    AnimeJapan 2025 Breaks Attendance Record, AnimeJapan 2026 Dates Announced

    The AnimeJapan 2025 staff announced that AnimeJapan 2026 will be held on March 28 to March 31, 2026. Following a similar format to this year’s event, the first two days of AnimeJapan 2026 are reserved for business, while the latter two days are open to the public.

    Alongside the AnimeJapan 2026 announcement, Comic Natalie (via Anime News Network) reports that AnimeJapan 2025 set a new record for attendance to the annual event with 152,400 attendees across the public days. This is a 15% increase from AnimeJapan 2024, which itself experience a 32% increase from 2023. This year’s attendance beat the previous all-time record for 2018 at 152,331. According to Comic Natalie, AnimeJapan reported that 1 in 10 attendees this year came from overseas. 

    AnimeJapan 2025 public days took place from March 22 to 23 at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center. The event featured several announcements for popular anime series such as Oshi no Ko, The Apothecary Diaries, My Hero Academia, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

    AnimeJapan 2025 had 116 booths, which is the highest in the event’s history. There was a new “White” main stage for a total of four main show stages with 52 stage panels. The Cosplayers World area was outside, and there was a Family Anime Festa for children inside the venue, making this year’s event the largest in its history as well.
