Square Enix has recently published the preliminary patch notes for the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.2: Seekers of Eternity, ahead of its March 25th, 2025 release. The patch notes give more details on what kind of quests will be added upon release.

New Main Scenario Quests
Eight new quests will be added, with the first one being called A Glimmer of the Past. To access this quest, players must first clear the Patch 7.1 quest Crossroads. Players will need to clear these quests in order to unlock both the new The Underkeep dungeon and the new Recollection trial.
New Dungeons and Duty Support Addition
Duty Support for the Sunken Temple of Qarn will be added. As such, the dungeon has been adjusted. In particular, the Teratotaur, Temple Guardian and Adjudicator boss battle has been adjusted. This feature will also be available for the new Underkeep dungeon that will be added in Dawntrail.
With the release of Patch 7.2, the Duty Roulette: Expert will now only cycle through the Patch 7.1 Yuweyawata Field Station and the new Underkeep dungeon. This means that you must clear and unlock this dungeon at least once in order to access it again.
New PvP Season
Series 8 will be held from Patch 7.2 to the release of Patch 7.3, during which time you can earn Series EXP and increase your Series level by participating in any PvP duty. Increasing your Series level will unlock various Series rewards.
The following adjustments have also been made to the battle high rating gained upon KOing or assisting: KOing a player will now yield 8 points instead of 10, and assisting will grant 4 points instead of 2. Several PvP action changes were teased at the Producer Live Letter, but further information will only be released when the Complete patch notes release at a later date.
AAC Cruiseweight Tier 8-Player Raid
The new raid dungeon AAC Cruiserweight Tier will be added in Patch 7.2. In conjunction with this, six new Chronicles of a New Era quests will be added, beginning with the “Souls under Siege” quest. To access this new quest, players must complete “The Neoteric Witch”.
A week after Patch 7.2’s release, the Savage Tier will be released. Upon completing AAC Cruiserweight Tier (Savage) duties, treasure coffers will appear containing Babyface Champion’s Coffers. When used, these items transform into gear corresponding to the user’s current job upon using the item. In addition, the coffers that appear upon completing AAC Cruiserweight M4 (Savage) yield weapons.
Quality of Life Improvements
- A warning message will now display on the screen when entering the garden of an estate scheduled for auto-demolition. The message will be displayed to private estate owners, and in the case of a free company estate, to all members of the free company.
- Rewards for Loboskin Treasure Maps and Br’aaxskin Treasure Maps have been adjusted. Rewards in Cenote Ja Ja Gural have also been adjusted.
- After beginning a boss encounter in any dungeon introduced prior to Patch 7.0, the shortcut warp will take players to the boss area’s entrance.
- The drop rate for the Wings of Ruin from Worqor Lar Dor (Extreme) and the Wings of Resolve from The Everkeep (Extreme) has been increased. Players can also utilize 99 tokens to exchange for these items.
- The weekly restriction on rewards obtained from coffers has been removed for the Jenuo: The First Walk alliance raid.
- The weekly restriction on obtaining Oracle Totems has been removed from the Futures Unwritten (Ultimate).
- Graphical adjustments have been made to player character models based on feedback from the community. In conjunction with these adjustments, players can obtain a phial of Fantasia from the wandering moogle in Old Gridania (X:10.7 Y:6.4) for a limited period of time.
