The 16th 2025 issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine revealed multiple new cast members for the upcoming Shin Samurai-den YAIBA anime.
The cast of Shin Samurai-den YAIBA includes:
- Minami Takayama as Yaiba Kurogane
- Manaka Iwami as Sayaka Mine
- Yoshimasa Hosoya as Takeshi Onimaru
- Katsuyuki Konishi as Kenjūrō Kurogane
- Junichi Suwabe as Musashi Miyamoto
- Atsushi Miyauchi as Raizō Mine – (new)
- Rina Satō as Shizuka Mine – (new)
- Kimiko Saitō as Fuji Mine – (new)
- Takeharu Ōnishi as Gerozaemon Geroda – (new)
- Shūhei Sakaguchi as Kumo Otoko (Mr. Spider) – (new)
- Kana Ichinose as Namako Otoko (Mr. Sea Cucumber) – (new)
- Gō Inoue as Sasaki Kojirō – (new)
The new Shin Samurai-den YAIBA anime will be streaming on Netflix in North America, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand on April 5. It will also stream on Hulu in the US, according to Anime News Network.
Before the April premiere, Shin Samurai-den YAIBA received early screenings in ten TOHO CINEMAS locations on March 13. The screenings included a roundtable video from manga creator Gōshō Aoyama, director Takahiro Hasui, and character designer Yoshimichi Kameda.
Blue Encount will perform the opening theme song “Blade.”
