Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer People Can Fly signed an agreement for the production of a new game prototype, which is codenamed “Project Delta.” The game is based on an intellectual property from Sony Interactive Entertainment, but the exact property was not announced yet.
As reported by Gematsu, People Can Fly will work as a developer on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment, who is the publisher of the new game. In return for the game’s development, People Can Fly will receive an agreed remuneration from Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Development of the game prototype is divided into stages. The scope and provisions of the agreement will not differ substantially from those of production agreements normally entered into for a project of this scale. Further details about the new game were not revealed, however.
However, the announcement is similar to one made in 2023, when People Can Fly announced an agreement was reached with Microsoft for development of “Project Maverick.” Project Maverick was confirmed in January 2025 to be Gears of War: E-Day, which People Can Fly is co-developing. Gears of War: E-Day is in development for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
In January, People Can Fly development director Guillaume Barry said “Our team at People Can Fly, made up of dedicated Gears of War fans, is pouring everything we have into creating an experience that will exceed expectations. While we can’t share more just yet, we’re eager for the day when we can show all the exciting things we’ve been working on.”
