Funcom has released a new trailer focused on exploration for Dune: Awakening. The game will release on May 20 for PC via Steam.
The trailer, titled “Exploring Arrakis — Secrets of the Desert,” focuses on the setting of the entire Dune franchise. Players will be able to explore the world, craft items such as vehicles and armor, and obtain better equipment like a grappling hook and Suspensor Belt. The trailer also reveals that map will change every week due to the prevalence of Coriolis Storms.

The base game of Dune: Awakening costs $49.99, and pre-orders will be available soon. Players who pre-order Dune: Awakening will also receive the Terrarium of Muad’Dib in-base decoration housing the iconic desert mouse. The Steam page describes the game’s story as follows:
The Fremen have vanished. Paul Atreides was never born. Lady Jessica obeyed the Bene Gesserit and gave birth to a girl. Duke Leto Atreides survived the assault on Arrakeen and is now locked in a brutal conflict with the Harkonnen over Arrakis and its precious spice.
In this unique but still familiar take on the iconic sci-fi universe of Dune, you begin as a prisoner sent to Arrakis to uncover the mystery of the Fremen’s disappearance. Following in the footsteps of the mysterious desert tribe, you will learn the true meaning of desert power as you rise from a nameless survivor to becoming an agent of the Atreides or the Harkonnen.
Lastly, Dune: Awakening launches on May 20 for PC. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will be available at a later date.
