Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the Beta Program at PlayStation initiative, which aims to be an easier way for players to sign up for future PlayStation betas on PS5 consoles and PC. The program also extends to PlayStation App and user experiences on PlayStation.com.
The Beta Program at PlayStation only requires a one-time sign-up to express interest in various betas for PS5, PC, and more. To sign-up, players must have a PlayStation Network account in good standing with a current email address. This means the account can not have restrictions or violations. Players must also live in a region where Beta Program at PlayStation is available, and they must be of legal age in the region.
Registration is free and opens globally today at playstation.com/beta-program-at-playstation/. It’s worth noting that joining the program allows you to be considered for beta participation, but it doesn’t guarantee selection for a specific beta test. More details about the program will be revealed over time.
Sony also recently reduced the recommended retail price of PlayStation VR2 from $549.99 / €599.99 / £529.99 / ¥74,980 to $399.99 / €449.99 / £399.99 / ¥66,980. The standard PlayStation VR2 package (headset, Sense controllers, and stereo headphones) and the PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle will be available at the same price. The Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle includes the standard PlayStation VR2 package and a voucher code for the game.
