Aquaplus announced the remake of romance visual novel ToHeart will release on June 26 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in Japan. It will be sold physically and digitally in Japan.
The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu, via Ryokutya2089, revealed that the digital and physical standard editions will be sold for 3,080 yen and 3,980 yen, respectively. A ToHeart Premium Edition will be sold for 10,780 yen featuring a Blu-ray disc featuring a remaster of the 1999 ToHeart anime series.
The ToHeart remake will include a recreated opening in 3D, event scenes in full 3D with visual cinema methods, and the ability to seamlessly switch between windowed text display and traditional visual novel styles. There’s also a new voice cast, which includes Kana Ichinose as Akari, Hina Youmiya as Multi, Kakeru Hota as Shiho, Saho Shirasu as Aoi, and Shogo Sakata as Hiroyuki.
An interview with producer Naoya Shimokawa and director Tsutomu Washimi confirmed that there’s a desire at Aquaplus to remake ToHeart 2 and expand the series with new games. However, the ToHeart remake must first sell well before Aquaplus goes forward with new plans.
Currently, there’s no plans for a “ToHeart 3.” The ToHeart remake will not have new heroines. In addition, the mini games that were from the original PlayStation release will not be available in the remake.
Tatami Honjou is the remake’s character designer. The opening theme song is “Feeling Heart” with lyrics by Naoko Sutani, composition and arrangement by Naoya Shimokawa and Junya Matsuoka, and vocals by YURiKA.
