During the February 12 State of Play, SEGA released a new trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, confirming a closed network test will be held. Sign-ups for the closed network test will be open until February 19 via the game’s official website.
According to SEGA, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will feature the largest roster of characters in any Sonic Racing title, along with a wide selection of customization options for vehicles. In addition, the new Travel Rings feature affects the race in real time by transporting racers to new “CrossWorlds.”

Previously, SEGA confirmed Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be developed by “an elite SEGA racing game team.” Sumo Digital, the developers behind the most recent Sonic Racing game, Team Sonic Racing, will not work on the new release.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will release in 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Lastly, here’s a description of the game, via SEGA:
