The staff behind the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise have announced that the second film in the series will release in February 2026. 8-Bit is the studio behind the film’s animation. The movie is titled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Blue Sea Arc.

Recently, the author of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Fuse, has announced that he wants to end the novel series later this year. He originally planned to review the series with the 22nd volume, but explained in the afterword that he had other scenarios he decided to write. He claims that he wants to end the series in the next volume, but he “cannot make any guarantees.”
Fuse initially serialized the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime light novel from 2013 to 2016. Over the years, it has garnered several miscellaneous video games, anime, and more adaptations. Additionally, Season 4 of the anime is in development.
