Idea Factory International and Compile Heart announced third-person shooter Scar-Lead Salvation is coming to PC via Steam on May 29 in the west. The PC version’s release coincides with the game’s Japanese release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
It’s worth noting that the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions were not confirmed for the west. The Steam page for Scar-Lead Salvation will open at a later date, and Idea Factory International plans to share more details about the PC version soon. In addition, the English official website for Scar-Lead Salvation will be updated soon.
As previously revealed, Scar-Lead Salvation stars Willow Martin (voiced by Fairouz Ai), who wakes up with no memoires of her past. Despite being amnesiac, she knows how to battle instinctively with exceptional combat skills. A mysterious entity known as “AI” (voiced by Junichi Suwabe) speaks to Willow via her intercom. It appears to have some sort of hidden agenda, but it helps Willow navigate the research facility she woke up in.
Scar-Lead Salvation acts similarly to roguelike games where death is not the end. When Willow dies, she looses her weapons and must restart the stage from the beginning. Enemies can be challenging and unleash a barrage of bullets. It’s up to the player to gather weapons and survive against progressively stronger enemies.
Abilities like Mirage Shift and Striker can help Willow gain the upper hand. Mirage Shift breaks down the body into data and transports it to a separate space. It can be used to pass through attacks or travel short distances on the ground and in the air. Striker is a weapon that Willow can charge toward an enemy to deal significant damage at close range.
