Slayers Series Short Story Collection Releasing on March 19

The collection will commemorate the series' 35th anniversary.

    Published:

The illustrator of the light novel series Slayers, Rui Araizumi, has announced that a Slayers Series Short Story Collection will release on March 19. The collection is titled Slayers Spirit: О̄ji to О̄jo to Dragon to (Prince, Princess, and Dragon) and will include four new short stories. It will commemorate the series’ 35th anniversary.

Fujimi Shobo’s Fantasia Bunko label published the original Slayers novel in 1990. The 15th novel, Slayers 15: Demon Slayers!, released in May 2000. Tokyopop and J-Novel Club have been releasing the series in English. The sixteenth novel released in 2018. An anime adaptation is available on Crunchyroll.

J-Novel Club describes the series as follows:

“Beautiful and brilliant sorcerer girls just can’t have nice things, huh? All I wanted to do was swipe a little bit of bandit treasure. Now suddenly I’m being chased around by icky trolls, nasty demons, mean mummies, and brooding golem bad boys. And for what? A tiny little artifact that can bring about the end of the world? Hah! I’ll show them there’s a reason you don’t cross Lina Inverse…”

Crunchyroll has a description of the anime on their streaming service, despite episodes not being currently available:

“In a land of fantasy and magic, fiery sorceress Lina Inverse and her band of misfits travel from adventure to adventure—and occasionally save the world! With dim-witted swordsman Gourry, idealistic Amelia, and stoic Zelgadis at her side, Lina leads the charge against the forces of evil. If fame, fortune, and food should fall their way, even better!”

Lastly, the Slayers Series Short Story Collection will release on March 19.
