Nippon Ichi Software announced that company president Tetsuhisa Seko has passed away at the age of 54 on January 24, (JST). He contributed greatly to the development and success of many notable NIS games, including the Disgaea franchise and Phantom Brave series.
After working at SNK and Toshin through the 90s and early 2000s, Seko joined Nippon Ichi Software in March 2002. He was appointed president and representative director of Nippon Ichi Software in July 2023, after nearly two decades of moving up the company. Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero was one of the final games that Seko worked on.
According to Japanese publication Jiji, Seko passed away at the hospital. A funeral will be held at Memoire Kakamigahara in Gifu Prefecture on January 29 at 11:00 JST.
