Monolith Soft has announced that Nintendo now has 100% ownership of the company. They previously owned 96% of the company, with co-founders Hirohide Sugiura, Tetsuya Takahashi, and Yasuyuki Honne owning the remaining rest. It is currently unknown when Nintendo bought the rest of Monolith Soft.
The announcement comes a few months before Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition releases for the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2025. The Nintendo eShop describes the game as follows:
