Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Announced, Coming Summer 2025 to All Platforms

    2D Ninja Gaiden is back.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound was revealed alongside a new trailer at The Game Awards today. Developed by The Game Kitchen, Ragebound will offer Ninja Gaiden fans a new 2D experience. Koei Tecmo promises that this new title will blend the gameplay of the classic entries with the depth and intense action from the 3D games.

The new game will follow Kenji Mozu as he faces a demonic threat endangering the Hayabusa Village. As Ryu Hayabusa is in America during the game’s events, it’s all up to Kenji to save the day. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound will release during the summer of 2025 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Game Awards 2024 Trailer

The trailer features an eye-popping animation, giving fans an idea for what kind of tone they can expect. However, snippets of gameplay also make an appearance, featuring tons of platforming action. It looks to be a speedy ride that pushes the player’s skills to the limits.

Ragebound aims to be easy to learn, but difficult to master. Mechanically, the game will incentivize players to stay in motion. Much like previous titles in the series, it will attempt to provide a challenging, yet rewarding experience.

According to the developers, the animations, mechanics, and more have been painstakingly fine-tuned to strike the perfect balance between spectacle and responsiveness. Additionally, the game’s art direction was given plenty of attention.

Most will know The Game Kitchen for previously developing Blasphemous and its sequel. As those two titles were very well received, it should be a positive sign. For more updates on the game, be sure to keep an eye on Final Weapon!
