HENPRI Visual Novel Coming West via Shiravune Next Year

From the creators of Nukitashi comes a new visual novel.

Publisher Shiravune has recently announced that they will be bringing the Qruppo-developed visual novel HENPRI to PC via Steam, which was originally released in Japan back in 2022. The game will be released sometime next year, and wishlisting is now available.

In HENRPI, the story takes place in Tulip Prison, a special penitentiary filled with criminals from all over Japan who have been deemed too far gone to rehabilitate. As the “phantom precinct” of the justice system, its facilities occupy an inescapable island that stands alone on the open sea.

The protagonist, Shuichiro Minato, is a young man who lives in Tokyo. Amid the Christmas lighting one beautiful winter night, he was arrested as a public nuisance. Though he attempted to defend himself in court, he was ultimately sentenced to ten years of penal servitude for being a pest and resisting arrest. But that’s not all. Because he was deemed too far gone to rehabilitate, he was then thrown into Tulip Prison.

    HENPRI Characters

    • Prisoner #0545: Hanamaru (CV: Haru Amachi)

A self-possessed woman who treats the protagonist kindly and becomes the first person he opens up to, offering him generous advice on the best ways to survive in the prison’s harsh environment. Inside the prison, her nickname is “Cultmaster.”

    • Prisoner #0721: Noah Kurebayashi (CV: Hajime Fumizuki)

On the outside, Kurebayashi earned the nickname “Drone Girl” for her dealings with secret recordings. But inside Tulip Prison, she’s just another prisoner. She prefers to be alone and makes sure she’ll get to stay that way by driving people away with her sharp-tongued hostility.
