Atelier Yumia Details Combat, Synthesis and Building Features

    A bigger and better Atelier.

Koei Tecmo and Gust revealed new details about the combat and Synthesis systems of Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land, along with the new Building feature. Both systems have been improved with new twists in the latest game in the long-running Atelier series.

In Atelier Yumia, players manipulate mana to create new items for combat and exploration with Synthesis. More powerful items can be created by using Resonance Synthesis, which requires more ingredients and materials that resonate with the recipe’s Alchemy Core. The strength of the resonance is based on the quality of ingredients, just like in prior entries.

The combat system has been revamped in Atelier Yumia to provide more intense real-time combat. The skills available to active team members depends on their distance from the enemy. Players can now move or interchange characters at anytime, and conditions can be met to unleash a powerful Friend Combo in battle. Moreover, Mana Surge may be activated to perform exclusive actions and a powerful special move.

While on their journey, Yumia’s party may build bases thanks to the new Building feature. This feature lets players create and decorate their atelier as they see fit. A variety of decorations and furniture may be selected, but players can also choose a predefined base model, too. Additionally, raising the comfort level of the atelier unlocks bonuses, including skill enhancement.

Moreover, Yumia and friends may set up camp and spend time cooking to gain various benefits for exploration and combat. Certain character events will occur at camp, allowing Yumia and her companions to bond more closely.
