Koei Tecmo and developer Gust released the opening movie for Fairy Tail 2, the sequel to 2020 Fairy Tail RPG. The game will launch on December 13 worldwide for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
Alongside the opening movie, Koei Tecmo confirmed that digital pre-orders for Fairy Tail 2 are now open. A Digital Deluxe Edition will be available featuring the base game, Atelier Ryza DLC costumes, the “Atelier Lucy” bonus feature, and several in-game items.
A Fairy Tail 2 “Guild Box” Edition is available to pre-order now in the NIS America Store. This edition includes the physical game, a visual artbook, a special shikishi with a holographic finish, and more. Moreover, a Digital Deluxe Edition will be available featuring additional DLC, including characters and scenarios. All physical and digital purchases before December 27 include the Miss Fairy Tail Contest costume for Lucy.
In Fairy Tail 2, players control Natsu and members of the Fairy Tail guild, including Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Wendy. They will take a journey across the Kingdom of Fiore and fight against Emperor Zeref of the Alvarez Empire and mages from the Spriggan 12. Members of this mage group include Irene, Ajeel, Dimaria, and Brandish.
Players will experience the Alvarez Empire Arc in its entirety in Fairy Tail 2. After completing the final chapter of the arc, players will be able to go past the final battle in a new storyline called “The Key to the Unknown.” This story is completely unique to Fairy Tail 2.
The Fairy Tail manga series by Hiro Mashima returned with a new one-shot chapter on July 3. The chapter released exactly one month after Mashima’s Edens Zero manga ended in Weekly Shonen Magazine. Fairy Tail continues in the Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest anime series.
