Kazue Katō has announced that her manga, Blue Exorcist, is officially on hiatus due to her undisclosed illness. The manga will return on November 4. According to Anime News Network, “Katō explained that she got a routine health check-up in March and that was when she was diagnosed with an illness. She added in the past few months, she has been going to the hospital while working on the manga.
She also stated she recently had a successful operation, and she has already been released from the hospital, but the postoperative treatment and recovery will take some time, and is the reason for the manga’s hiatus.”
The next arc of the Blue Exorcist anime will air on October 5. The most recent arc, Blue Exorcist Shimane Illuminati Saga previously aired on Sundays at 12:30 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX, BS11, and other networks in Japan.
