Square Enix revealed new details about Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, including parties, vocations, and Monster Arenas. Like other traditional turn-based RPGs, players may form a party of four characters in the upcoming remake.
Players may pay a visit to Patty’s Party Planning Place at the start of their adventure in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake to add any adventurers to your parties. The remake includes a new “Helping Hands” feature that lets party members sign up to be volunteers. Volunteers can help out parties on other adventure logs (save files) tied to the same account. Up to nine adventure logs can be tied to a single account, with a maximum of one volunteer per log.
It’s worth noting that personalities can effect the party and attributes for certain party members when they level up. These personalities are set whenever the player registers their companions at Patty’s Party Planning Place.
Changing Vocations
In addition, every party member, including the protagonist, has a vocation that determines what spells and abilities they can learn and use. Attributes and equipment are important factors to consider for each Vocation. The new Monster Wrangler vocation is included in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, letting player befriend and use the powers of monsters.
Players may change vocations for characters over level 20 once they reach Alltrades Abbey, except for the protagonist. Party members will revert to level 1 and see their attributes decrease by 50% after changing vocations, but they retain all the spells and abilities they’ve learned before the change. Moreover, the “fashion gooru” Healizah can change character’s looks and voices for a fee.
Those who undergo intense training and achieve true enlightenment can change into the Sage vocation. Sages have an abundant amount of MP and can wield priest and mage specific skills. Certain conditions must be met to become a Sage, and the path to becoming one is shrouded in mystery.
Monster Arenas
Monster Arenas are exclusive to the new remake, and its the home of friendly creatures that players have rescued on their travels. Monsters with a kinder disposition can be found while exploring towns, dungeons, and other areas. if you win a Monster Arena tournament, you can win special prizes. Teams are comprised of a max of three monsters, and players can adjust the monsters’ tactics.
There are hidden areas in the world that players won’t find on their map. These areas are marked by a conspicuous tree or some boulders, so players should keep their eye out. By entering these spots, you can find items, gold coins, and even a friendly monster for Monster Arenas.
