Clear River Games has announced that Gimmick! 2 will release on September 5. The game will be available on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
Gimmick! 2 is developed by Bitwave Games and published by Clear River Games, a team focused on classic and retro titles. The game directly follows the hero Yokai Yumetaro, known fondly for the original Gimmick! from Sunsoft on the Nintendo Entertainment System. The team has focused on retaining the fun charm and colors of the original while bringing new animation, characters, and secrets for modern players to discover. The game’s soundtrack will be developed by David Wise, known for his work on Donkey Kong Country, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, and more.

Clear River Games has revealed that Gimmick! 2 will release on the Nintendo Switch and PC on September 5. Additionally, they also released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming game. Check out the trailer below:

In Gimmick! 2, you once again meet the green little yokai Yumetaro. Decades after his first adventure he now sets out on a new quest in a world packed with interesting challenges, dangerous enemies, and hidden treasures. The game can be played in either a friendlier assisted mode, or if you’re up for a challenge play in the true-to-the-original “Gimmick!” mode!
Gimmick! 2 will be available on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on September 5. The game will be available to play for attendants at Gamescom 2024 from August 21 to August 25.
