Square Enix has announced a new initiative to donate and plant 25,000 trees if 60,000 hours of the Visions of Mana Demo are watched by August 11, 2024. This is in partnership with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization that aims to plant trees to combat deforestation across the planet. As of today, 19,500 hours of the Visions of Mana Demo have been watched. That’s essentially 33% of the way to the 60,000 goal, which needs to be met before August 11.
You can participate in this initiative by simply watching a video or stream of the demo, or even streaming the game yourself! All metrics from video platforms like Twitch and YouTube will be included in the total number, and Square Enix plans to provide daily updates as the community inches closer to its goal.
Visions of Mana has plenty of cues with environmentalism, as do other major Square Enix titles like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. In Visions of Mana, the Mana Tree is the source of all mana, which is essential for life. The demo is now available across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
