    Crunchyroll’s The Anime Effect Releases Special EVO Episode

    During EVO this past weekend, Crunchyroll’s The Anime Effect met and spoke with countless individuals who are well-recognized in the fighting game community. This includes Jonathan “Tyrant” Parkes, James “JWongg” Wong, and Michael “IFC Yipes” Mendoza. During the episode, the guests join the main cast to break down the weekend and all of the biggest announcements.

    The Anime Effect is Crunchyroll’s latest podcast, which was launched officially earlier this year. Since its launch, the show has trended consistently in almost 40 countries, with multiple appearances at #1 in the charts. New episodes are available each week on Friday at 4 PM PST. Each can be watched on either YouTube or directly through Crunchyroll.

    EVO (Evolution Championship Series) is the biggest fighting game tournament event out there. Each year, the main event is hosted in Las Vegas towards the end of Summer. The biggest fighting games out there, like Street Fighter 6Tekken 8Mortal Kombat 1, and more, hold multi-day tournaments to crown a champion. After this year’s event, EVO announced that events will be held in the following locations for 2025:

    • EVO Los Angeles, California (FGC Award Show Happening in February)
    • EVO Tokyo, Japan (May 9-11 at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center)
    • EVO Las Vegas (August 1-3)
    • EVO France (October 10-12)
